Jyotish DB ("we", "us") operates the Jyotish DB mobile application ("the app") and this website at jyotishdb.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have over it.

1. What we collect

• Account information — your name and email address, provided by Google or Apple when you sign in. We never receive or store your password.
• Purchase records — processed by RevenueCat; we receive only the entitlement state needed to unlock Premium (plan, status, period end).
• Saved research — queries, case files, and notes you choose to save in the app.
• Device identifiers — used solely to keep your session and subscription working.

2. What we do not collect

• No advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, no cross-app tracking.
• No location data, photo library, contacts, or call logs.
• We do not sell your data. We have nothing to sell.

3. Why we collect it

To keep you signed in, to honor your free-tier limits and Premium entitlement, to sync your saved research across your own devices, and to provide support. The app is API-first: queries run against our chart database, and your research is stored so your workspace survives reinstalls.

4. Voice search

Voice search (English, Hindi, Hinglish) is processed by your device's operating-system speech service. We do not receive or store audio. The transcription appears in the search bar as editable text.

5. Security

All traffic is HTTPS-only (the app refuses cleartext). Session tokens are stored in hardware-backed storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). Release builds are obfuscated with R8/ProGuard and run Hermes bytecode. Entitlements and query limits are enforced server-side, not merely hidden in the client.

6. Account deletion

Settings → Delete account removes your account, saved research, and profile data from our servers immediately, in-app. No support ticket required. App Store and Play Store data-safety declarations point to this in-app flow.

7. Data retention

We retain account data until you delete it. Purchase entitlement records are retained as long as required for billing and tax obligations, after which they are removed.

8. Children

The app is rated 18+ (astrology/entertainment) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
